They're made 'bad' through cruelty; years of stupidity, abuse, and neglect.
And I am the baddest dog.
Something that was actually quite ambitious that fell short of my initial expectations. Please don't critique; I know damn well just about every flaw here; including the anatomy problems on the pit bull, the perspective problems on the dog food dish, the problems with the roofing on the dog house, the 'furry' look to the grass, and the fact that the Dandelion plant has no flower heads on it.
Also, I sincerely apologize for the scan quality here, I just got a new computer and it's not compatible with my old scanning software and the new software I used wouldn't accept the same scan settings I'm used to and for the life of me I could NOT figure out how to get a cleaner scan. I presently have no inking pens and the picture itsself is heavily smudged due to the shading and my hand rubbing the lead all over the picture. I know you guys are used to a higher quality of art coming from my gallery, and I'm sorry. But I do have a certain amount of love for this picture, and I wanted to at least upload it somewhere.
I might take it down if enough people feel it doesn't need to be here, however. So let me know.
I like it a great deal - if it's important to you then it certainly belongs here. As for a cleaner scan.. have you tried messing with the levels in photoshop?

Peter: Lois, um, go get the medical dictionary and look up "fork" and "lung."

Yeah, I actually messed with it a great deal in both Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, the problem with messing with the levels and contrast and brightness is that it would not only take out the smudges, but it would also remove a lot of the shading and the actual pencil lines because a lot of the pencil lines aren't much darker than the shading and smudges. x_x
Psh. As long as YOU like it and feel that it needs to be here, then it stays. Don't let anyone tell you what should or shouldn't be in YOUR gallery.
Anyway. Now that that's out of the way.
I really, really like this. A lot. Sure, it's not perfect, but in my opinion, art will always be imperfect itself. There's always room to improve.
I LOVE your attention to detail SO MUCH. The texture on the tire, even the WORDS on the tire, the crack in the brick, the holes in the fence, the little pieces of spilled dog food, the interior of the dog house, etc. And all those lines on the garbage bags! *_* So much love. I also really like Fight Bite's face. SO EXPRESSIVE. n__n
I think it looks fantastic. Deviantart isn't about the highest caliber of art, it's about community, of enjoying, appreciating and helping each other with our various arts. All flaws you see in this image aside, it still is very very well done. And I understand about clean scanning. A lot of my stuff is bigger and I have to use digital pictures, problem with that is my digital camera isn't all that great, and levels do nothing to help with dirty digital pictures.
This is freaking amazing, it deserves to be here more than almost anything I see these days. You are fantastic, I think it looks amazing. The perspective is just great (or it looks great, as an outsider) and wow.. you've gotten even better. <3

I adore the stylization here. The face looks good, and the garbage bag in the foreground really draws my eye. This is a great picture despite the scan issues... the only problem I see that you mentioned is the perspective on the bowl. Everything else looks great, and personally I think you're over-criticizing yourself Are you planning to add color to this at any point?
